I'm going to throw my two cents in on only one specific section at this video and that's AI 'art" reference images.
I personally have aphantasia so I can't visualize anything in my mind. I close my eyes and all I see are my eyelids.
Whenever possible I will always use real images for reference. Sometimes I just can't find the random very specific and very niche thing I want to reference and AI feels like pretty much my only option. I only use most reference images for general shape, etc. Once I get the picture going, I typically don't need the reference image anymore because I'm just drawing what looks right to me. My art isn't made for anyone else, it's not posted anywhere. It's something I do for myself.
You go off on this whole thing about how actual images are better and I fully agree, if they're available (and they almost always are). You seemed to focus heavily on the smaller details of an AI image which I'd personally never considered because in my style, I try to avoid referencing those close up details regardless of the source because those are the things I feel like I can handle making through a bit of trial and error without the ability to visualize that thing in my mind.
My point is I had never considered that people are using AI images for reference for finer details, I feel like you've never really considered (or at least explained/explored) the opposite, that some people are just using them for a vague general idea of what precisely they want.
As far as the cost, I've literally never paid for an AI generated image, but to be fair I've only ever prompted like three images ever.
