Chat GPT is not an actual ai by the meaning we understand. It can only provide answers based on its training. In other words it is not capable of thinking and doesn't innovate, so it doesn't express free will or self awareness. Simply put it's like a calculator for words. A language model. A calculator based on its programming with math expressions can consistently solve very complex equations that a human would the very long time to calculate. However the calculator can't innovate in maths and formulate new mathematical concepts. Same with chatgpt being a language model.
