I've been playing with AI myself quite a bit, and lately ditched it completely to start practicing manual art. IMO the two biggest problems with gen-AI are: 1. Workflow. It's like rolling a slot machine. It's a cheap dopamine thrill with no chance of flow state. 2. Originality and control. AI generated images will always be amalgamations of previous pictures. Sure, at first glance it may seem that you can create everything and anything, only your imagination is the limit. But if you spend some time trying to forge your original style, original characters, and so on, you'll soon notice that it's impossible. You can download styles and mix them up, but in the end you lack control with minute details. It's easy enough to create generic images of a certain style but that's where it stops. It can replace stock photos and can be fun to play with for cheap dopamine hits for a while, but it's not the next step of creativity.
