Stable Diffusion is a tool, period. You may argue about the data that is used to train the AI. But in the end the result is the combination of the data AND the prompt you give. The quality of the results can vary wildly depending on the prompts you build. And when it comes to the data which is used to train the "AI"... many if not most modern artists are inspired by the art of others or the art of the past. It is how the human brain works. Everything you create is a product of the things you've seen and learned before. If you try new things and they fail you'll (hopefully) try to learn how to do it better next time. Basically "weights" and "biases". Maybe the copyright belongs to the "AI" then? Or to the people that trained the "AI"? Or to everyone who provided data for training? Many Anime artists are using drawing software which is smoothing the curves they draw, basically none of their pictures can be authentic art pieces because in fact not a single pixel of their image is their actual work but the result of the algorithms the software is using to enhance their inputs. And to be completely fair to create proper prompts for Stable Diffusion is still way harder than stacking 10 buckets full of sand and pulling a plug.
