When lamplighters became obsolete with the advent of electric street lights, there were new jobs like being an electrician that could fill the gap. As with other technologies, AI will certainly generate new professions to replace the obsolete ones. The only problem, is that any new profession that AI creates will also rapidly become obsolete as AI improves. The new professions that are produced by AI are going to be super high skilled professions, so it won't be like training a lamplighter to become an electrician. Instead it will be like training a truck driver to become a theoretical physicist. Training that takes a lifetime of study and intelligence that not everyone has.
