What I miss in this whole consideration is the inclusion of the simpler, less intelligent, or less talented people. The creative, more intelligent, and talented will surely find new paths and niches, but what about the others?
If we lived in a society where everything was automated, and most things were done by AI and robots, there wouldn't be enough work for the masses.
It's unrealistic to believe that less working time would result in the same or higher wages and that everyone would have more free time. After all, the whole point of companies investing in AI and robots is to reduce costs by eliminating wage payments. And those who profit from the profits always want more and aren't interested in the well-being of society.
There will surely be a collapse when the vast majority of society is out of work.
What happens next remains to be seen.
