Everybody's job (damn near) is threatened by AI. What do you think those people who lose their job directly from AI are going to do? Most of them will try to do something else. That will create an increase in workers in those areas, and an increase in competition for those jobs, and the wages in those job areas will lower accordingly. It will take 3-4 years for the first indirect effects to hit those other job areas, and in that time frame, the tech companies may have found a way to replace those jobs with AI and automation as well. This is a population killer. If these morons in our ruling class have any brains at all, they will do this slowly so that it doesn't cause a revolt. What is my life worth? It never was worth anything. No matter how smart or motivated I was, I wasn't born into any level of the ruling class. I hit a glass ceiling at the rank of lower engineer. To make it MUCH worse, I refused to lie about things that will kill people if (when) they fail (think ships sinking or airplanes crashing). Adding to that vexation, I refused to go along with D.I.E and C.R.T. AND I'm a white male. I never did manage to choose the way I wanted to live, but I DAMN WELL can choose the way I die!
