As someone who is a disabled artist—I have dyspraxia which makes fine motor skills (like drawing) way harder, and my hands are unreasonably shaking inconsistently—AI bros should not be making that excuse. Even with my disabilities, I enjoy the process of drawing (despite it being harder for me) MORE than the end result. AI has always been a huge letdown, never giving me the right result. Whereas, I—the human with free will and choice—can easily draw what I was wanting without there being miscommunication. And like you had mentioned, there are plenty of disabled artists who make amazing art despite whatever challenges they face as a result of being disabled.
And if they try to say that they're too lazy, don't have the time or skill or motivation—I don't either. My drawings are awful, I rarely feel like drawing, I don't have the time, and I'm just a lazy person in general. But I still make art simply because I can and because I want to. Using AI is just counterproductive.
