It's not necessarily AI itself that's devaluing the degree. It also comes down to how employees utilize AI to devalue workers so they can have a lower cost of operating. It will cost them in other areas. Some are immediately obvious like showing your true colours as a company or losing skilled and innovative workers to train the next generation or even run the business going forward. But there will likely be new ways companies negatively impact themselves by over reliance on AI that they won't realize until they've already done the damage.
