It's funny, I thought of the steam engine and then it was mentioned in the video. It was indeed not the steam engine that kicked off the Industrial Revolution. It was the RELIABLE and ECONOMICAL steam engine by James Watt that did. There were steam engines before, like the Newcomen engine. But they broke down a lot and needed whole a coalmine to run.
