Less than 5% of an Apple iPhone is produced in the United States, with the vast majority of assembly and components sourced from China, Taiwan, and South Korea. While a few parts, like the screen's protective glass from Corning, have some domestic production, the sophisticated chips and other critical components are overwhelmingly manufactured overseas, making full domestic production highly impractical and expensive. I wonder how many people these facilities will employ? Or will the production lines be AI and robotics-driven, with technicians on hand to fix the breakdowns?
