As long as customers or bosses cannot phrase their exact requirements in a way AI understands it in a non-ambiguous way, AI will never make programmers obsolete.
What happens is that copy&paste "programmers" just switch to asking AI their questions instead of googling them and copying the answers from stackoverflow.
Others will have AI support them: write simply regexes, analyse code for simple bugs etc. pp.
But AI will never solve new problems and requirements.
