it's easy, robots do everything we think is mundane, then we realize mundane is life and without it we don't have life. Mankind stops reproducing, 1 generation mankind is dead. Robots don't have a soul, so they no longer have a purpose after humans are gone. Robots take all the crap man made, put it back to earth, shut themselves down. 10,000 years later mankind repeats the cycle with no evidence it ever happened (yes, some people remain to start repopulation)
