no, we dont talk about actual painting copies, we mean that ALL art is a continuation of the works done by people before them, which means your "original" style is just an unconscious attempt to randomly combine things you saw before in life + your drawing skills (which adds a bit of randomness because people are bad at drawing while ai can copy it more literally). You can not create stuff out of nothing and you did learn from works of other people without their consent but now you believe that they have to ask your consent and pay you. Your only argument left is that learing these skills was time consuming and hard, sure noone is arguing with that. The last thing i wanna add is that if we would end up in a world you are promoting where every picture is someoneelse's "intellectual property" this world would be horrible. You would have to pay literally for everything, even if you want to post a meme. And the only ones who would have resources to pay for all of that (including resources to sue people in the court) would be corporations. So with your "think about poor artists and enforce stricter IP laws" you are about to create an even worse dystopia because corps owns like 90% of IPs in the world, while some small percent of priveldged artists would be rich from it normal people would suffer
