This is another tech hype bubble and if you do a bit of research AI efforts have been around for 45 to 55+ years and during this time there were a few waves of initial investment waves but findings were less than expected or not possible at that point due to physical or technical limitations and funding was rolled back but this funding was more behind the scenes for the general public. This seems to be a much bigger wave that was in the mainstream public that was over hyped and implemented too quickly and now comes the fallout.
