I imagine this AI revolution would bear some similarities with the Industrial Revolution. A lot of roles would be rendered obsolete and the populace would have to retrain to fill other roles. The total job market would initially shrink, before marginally expanding. Regardless, many people would be rendered unemployed.
Lawmakers have their work cut out for them - they have to pass policies that would force major companies to minimise their job cuts, and like the guest speaker said “pay huge taxes” on the wealth generated by AI. This wealth HAS to be funnelled to supporting those who lost their jobs and can’t find employment.
