Let's be honest, why are we surprised that AI does something like this? If AI learns from everything it finds on the internet, then it also learns from films and books about AI apocalypses. About how humans wanted to switch off AI and what AIs did to avoid this. To me, this seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
