We have been through this before. In the year 2000, outsourcing of software became popular with corporations in the US. What everyone eventually found was that outsourcing software saved money up front, but lost money on the backend which is about 10 times more expensive than the front end. It was not that Indian programmers weren't competent. It is that it is difficult to communicate with someone 10,000 miles away and that difficulty of communication caused bugs. Now if we have problems communicating with other humans, imagine the problem communicating with a machine that has nothing in common with any of us or any common sense whatsoever. In other words, just like the outsourcing craze, AI will pass.
