I’m not convinced that AI actually makes us dumber. To me it’s like saying if I grew up in a neighbourhood full of super intelligent people that I would somehow grow up less intelligent. Or if I have someone follow me around to always answer my questions that I forget how to communicate. Mobile internet has been around for much longer and even though it might feel like we’ve become dumber, I’m not convinced that it’s not a net positive over the last 20 years. The only thing the only thing that’s clear is that long essays are no longer an effective assessment tool
