Good thing that this talk is reaching many many people, now the questions for you:
Knowing AI will just get smarter, more capable, and cheaper; what are your proposals to solve the issue with copyright? Assuming the following:
1. AI won't be forbidden or stopped.
2. The copyright payments would be in the best-case scenario, a fraction of what the artist makes from the original artwork, so I doubt an artist will live from copyright itself.
3. After many iterations with the original artwork, combined with other copyrighted and free/open datasets, the creations would be considered original enough to then stop paying copyright. This may happen in less than 5 years so, in the best-case scenario, copyright income will be possible for maximum 5 years.
4. AI has already been trained and it's virtually impossible to "untrain-it" at this point. So aside from the sueing and post-damage compensations, the knowledge is already out there and "free" for everyone.
Would love to hear your ideas and suggestions on how everything will evolve!
