She makes some good points here, but she doesn't give a good reason for why politeness would result in better answers.
You could infer from her points, that being polite might result in more polite answers. But, at least in the case of ChatGPT, I think it's strongly aligned to be polite anyway, regardless of the tone of the prompt.
But I wonder whether polite questions in its training data got better responses in the training data. Maybe humans gave better answers when asked politely, and if so, that might make the AI give better answers when asked politely. After all, it's just trying to mimic what a human would do.
