I don't think AI is going to replace all the programmers, BUT AI will replace the programmers that don't adapt to AI as a tool, and the ones who use it as a tool only the good ones will survive!
I can see AI replacing 80% of programmers 10 years from now, and who knows maybe 90%, and from those 10% to 20% of programmers left, they all will have to be the best of the best, not only the best at using AI as a tool, BUT also the best of the best programmers.
So if you belong in that 80% to 90% you should worry about your job 10 years from now, and who knows maybe in the next 5 years or less, since lots and lots of people have been layoff this year already!
