If we can create a realistic simulation, then it's likely we're already in a simulation. By the same token, if we create a general AI, it's likely we're already under the control of that general AI. Conclusion: it's statistically more likely that we're in a simulation under the control of a general AI, and if we still exist in some form, then we have nothing to fear and should continue doing what we're doing.
