We have been also "told" that AI will replace radiologists and general practitioner physicians.
Would you like to see your ruptured Achilles tendon treated by AI? Do you think the robot surgeon created by Elon Musk will be able to either apply the cast necessary to hold the separated ends of the Achilles tendon together, or surgically run the connecting wires through your calcaneus to hold the ends together? Do you think that AI will be able to replace podiatrists and orthopedic surgeons?
Do you think that the PhD doctor who invented the coating on surgical implants that prevented body rejection could be replaced by AI? I met this authentic genius. If we were waiting for AI to come up with this discovery, we would NOT have surgical implants.
