Im someone who id say is below average as far as my natural ability to draw. I have aphantasia which makes it really hard to plan out pieces and my eye hand coordination has always been shit. I've been drawing for 9 years now pretty consistently and still get the compliment that im "really good for someone just starting out" because thats what people think when they see my art, that I'm new when I've been doing this for years. It can be frustrating, its so easy to look at people who progress faster or started better and feel like they're special and have a gift I don't have, and in many ways they do. That doesn't stop me from continuing to draw, and continuing to improve slowly day by day. Someday I'll make comics that get published, even if it takes me 9 years longer than it would take most people. Turning to AI is taking from yourself the most satisfying part of art:, the process. The process of art and the way building your skill makes you more resilient is priceless.
