I know how artists would like this to go, but it’s going to be difficult after AI artwork becomes truly indistinguishable from human art.
We’ve been able to judge images based upon design, harmony, color, subject matter, etc., but how do we expect to insert “it depends who made it,” or “it depends what methods were used?” That’s always been a difficulty in the past. Don’t we expect a visual artwork to stand on its own merits, without explanation?
