The issues here are kind of related.
1. Memory. The AI can simply not remember enough and keep it in its brain long enough to actually do a complex interwoven task. It can't even remember simple instructions you give it long enough to do a complex task.
2. Projection. When I have an AI do an outline for a project and tell it I want it to be a particular length, it's simply unable to do that because it can't project out in its "mind" how to distribute the words to make a project turn out to be the length I want it to be.
However, I do want to say that AI is still fairly useful for certain things, and I also think these problems I'm mentioning can eventually be solved using different approaches. For instance, something other than a large language model.
