I think the AI "artists" made one of their biggest mistakes by letting it be consumed by the culture war. Generative AI has become some kind of rallying point for right-wing capitalist douchenozzles, and so anyone with a conscience is now naturally repulsed by "AI art" and the people that try to advocate for it.
