It is amazing how someone widely recognized as one of the best in his field but completely ignorant on a slightly related topic was still able to speak reasonably about it, by embracing his ignorance but still giving a class on first-principle thinking. I have seen many interviews on AI development that were really embarrassing, people without any knowledge trying to reason without facts (I remember NDTyson saying "We can just unplug the electric socket" - that is really a scary level of ignorance).
To claim "As I am ignorant about this I look at the experts: they are scared, and so am I" is refreshing.
