This is what critical race theory is about. These AI are pulling from older information to guide their decisions. This older information was based on data collected by more overt racists or for more overt racist reasons. Even when overt racism is largely gone from our public perception now, the history of racism in our past perpetuate inequality and violence towards people of color. These disparities in healthcare and police treatment are only a couple examples.
