I am not familiar with the exact AI in question, but I know a lot of schools AI do not work fully on entity shape or design, but how it is grabbed, and held.
It needs to judge intent, because there is the chance of the firearm being home-made.
Remember that code does not have senses like us. It only has what it has been taught, and a very literal use of every word defined.
