There's this new anime called Look Back. It was completely hand drawn (yes, every. single. frame. including. random. in-betweens.), as the creators' protest against the commercial shit that's going on in the entertainment industry, especially since gen AI is a thing. The story adds an extra layer of personal, almost confessional nature to the whole thing: it's about 2 artists with completely different temperaments that translates into their work, and the struggle of teamwork/time saving vs solo carrier/full control over your work.
It's been an absolute hit despite it being a slow-paced, relatively short film with wonky lines and small imperfections that could've been fixed with technology in no time (like they could've used CGI to prevent the little perspective and character model incostistencies). This, to me, shows the human race's NEED for personality, message and, essentially, other humans' creativity.
