At no point did it suggest true AI. Who said code? Do you realise that we are free thinking code? Once you have a machine capable of similar levels of the cell replication we have, then it moves closer to reality. I'm not one for prophecy, but to say it "isn't RL" is childish. It may be very far away, and hard for you to imagine. That doesn't make it impossible (or even improbable). Electricity was just used for simple magic tricks at one point, things change.
