What I like about art is that your connecting to the divine through your imagination. I don’t care at all about skill gatekeeping ego driven bullshit machoism. The skill/time invested means nothing to anyone except yourself. simply no one cares and if you like art because “ohh look how long that must have taken” then you’re not really appreciating the art you’re appreciating the artist. Ai can (and almost always does) take away from that connection to the imagination and that’s the real loss, both personal and to society. I think if you used ai like a Lego making machine and collages together your project from the pieces it could be an amazing tool. If it allows an indie developer to delve into their mind and make a whole ass game from it I really don’t care if they generated the assets from prompts or if they never saw a single line of code. The story on the other hand… not so much.
