One thing to consider is the aftermath of having a global A.I. workforce. Without the challenge of basic survival, we may dumb-down as a result (like in Idiocracy.) As the saying goes "necessity is the mother of invention", and if we one day find ourselves without needs, what would inspire us to progress?
