If AI Art compares to anything, it's commissioning a *different* artist besides yourself to make art for you. In that scenario, you don't own the copyright, but you're given a license to the finished product. In the end, *you* yourself don't need any skill.
The only difference between that and AI is that the "artist" that you're commissioning isn't a human. Beyond that, it's the exact same, down to the fact that detailed descriptions of what you want yield better results.
