Assuming a natural world it is absolutely not far fetched that something else except from humans can have consciousness. And in my opinion one of the biggest differences of the human brain to an AI is billions of years of evolution. But, AI can catch up quickly, we can already train models on 100,000 years equivalent of time in just a few years of „real time“
