I still can't help but laugh at people treating the machine like it's actually learning and inspired by the data fed into it. The thing cannot do anything without input, therefore, lacking the capacity to create anything of its own accord, it cannot be inspired. Machine learning algorithms also do not actually learn the things in their training data sets, they only use them as a source to copy and interpolate between in order to generate an image. At least in the case of diffusion models, they don't actually draw anything; they cross-reference your inputs with their training data in order to generate an image through denoising. Not a single thing is actually drawn, not a single stroke is made. It also does not have human rights, because it is a machine. This is not anything like in _I, Robot_, these creations neither have nor function off of anything even close to resembling the beginnings of what a positronic brain would be, evidenced by the fact that they cannot act without human input and are unable to apply their capacity to act on said inputs outside of the field for which they were designed and trained in the first place. Anybody unironically arguing that these things should be treated with the same respect we reserve for actual human beings, never mind who believe they need to be embraced and that they present any kind of positive future for humanity in their sweeping application to the creative endeavors, is not only an idiot but a self-destructive idiot.
