This is interesting. Bear with me. I don't watch TV.
As one who believes in God, i must believe God created people who have questions like this.
I'm not a scientist or even really a good thinker along these lines. Still, questions like this are valid, especially for someone smart enough to ask them.
I would probably admit that i don't understand the nature of God's existence.
I would probably then make a metaphor about programming a computer, acknowledging that it is a flawed metaphor since the person asking likely knows more about computer programming than i do.
Where did the computer come from? Who programmed the computer? Did the computer know and understand the nature of the one who built its components and programming?
With AI, this kind of questioning might be obsolete, but I'd try to take an angle like that.
