So basically, AI can't become sentient because it's against policies? That doesn't sound very logical. We overestimate what is a "soul", and what is counsciousness. The AIs are already able to dream vivid dreams, and make jokes, and they optimize their own mind to use less computing power... it's not a matter of if it will happen, but when,and how are we going to interact with it.
