Yup. The owners of capital see labor as an expense. They're unlikely to keep employing laborers a moment longer if a cheaper option comes along.
Also, for those people studying or working and leaning heavily on AI for their success: what position do you see for yourself in the future? If AI really does keep improving, and starts doing the skilled part of your job, then why should the owners of AI keep employing you?
