Chatgpt and the other LLM models are all making money for the companies based on these resources and so usually you would have to pay for copyrighted mateial if you use that to provide a service. This will have to be worked out again in the courts and the only winner again are lawyers when common sense should prevail. We're fighting against China and their disrespect for these copyright laws, but is it worth destroying the reward for creativity and hard work where people should be paid for their creations. Quite a quandary. The problem is that IT regard all content in the net to be public domain but I question why if they can spend money on paying people, in poor countries, to manually remove profanity from resources used to train LLMs, then how is it copyright cannot be established prior to the assimilation of these resources because it is the right thing to do.
