You can't put the genie back in the bottle. I think what's really upsetting people is that they are being forced to confront the fact that we are subject to the same rules of cause/effect, and the same predictability shown by all other biological organisms on the face of the planet. We aren't special, free will was always a fairy tale, and the more advanced AI becomes the more it is able to prove it by predicting exactly what we want/what we'll do.
