Here’s the real question, why do you assume UBI’s would never come into place, sure they won’t at the 10 or even 15% unemployment rates but once you’re hitting 20? 30? 50? It going to become clear that no one is earning money so no one is spending money so the economy is stagnating, you cannot have companies making these kinds of ‘profits’ if there isn’t a single person buying those goods or services, also if no one can work because of ai then there really isn’t anything stopping the entire world from obtaining peace (resources and labour are now abundant and so nothing to go to war over) so you obtain world peace, have a global universal basic income, and have a bunch of people with free time, insert the entertainment industry, let’s be real no one cares for ai slop except like 5 year olds so people are still going to be needed to give the human element into entertainment like YouTubers, streamers and movie stars, oh and if the there is world peace then it’s likely the world could and probably would unite under a single banner of just ‘earth’, a universal language would be chosen or a new one would be made from the merger of several of the largest languages (or the largest will remain and all be tought whilst the smaller would be forgotten) and universal currency (this could even have a fixed value now that supply vastly outpaces demand), every single ‘ai will be the end of civilzation’ type videos like these assume that humanity wouldn’t grow along side the ai, whilst the ai grows to super intelligence and outperforms us all at everything we would in turn grow out of our childish ways of war and hatred and move towards globalisation to its fullest extent, there’s is pretty much a 0% chance humanity would remain exactaly the same way it is with no changes whatsoever
