The truth is going to lie somewhere in between and that makes the most sense historically. LLMs will replace some jobs. Email didn't replace USPS, UPS, or Fedex, but I'm sure that some folks had lost their jobs. Excel didn't replace accountants, but I'm sure some lower level positions where spreadsheets were made by hand were lost.
