Great speech Senator. Thanks for it. However, I don't think some of the solutions presented would really be sustainable in the long run.
Improving working condition, pay, worker involvement, employee ownership, etc is great and we definitely need them; but if we want to go full steam ahead with AI and automation, we would no longer be workers, most of us would just be unemployed. So even if workers got more pay and more say in how their companies runs, most people won't actually benefit from automation simply because they don't work anymore.
In the long run, with automation peeking in the corner, some form of robot tax and UBI is going to be inevitable and I think we should already be setting up the framework for this from now instead of waiting until we are actually forced and no longer has a leverage against the rich to demand them.
