Oof this was the mother of all downers. This was more depressing than anything the Yud could come up with because it was an outcome staring us in the face from the beginning: elites monopolize advanced AI and use it to further entrench the already yawning chasm between them and us. It was never the Terminator, or even something with as much cyberpunk noir charm as Blade Runner, it was always gonna be Elysium. Of course, even in Elysium ordinary shlubs still had a few (fantastically dangerous and exploitative) jobs. Worst timeline.
