A.I. art makes you really appreciate the inherent derivative nature of genuine human art because it's almost like getting to see an autopsy of a work. "Why did the artist make this decision? Oh they were probably influenced by this other work. What does that say about this piece and the artist themselves I wonder?" It creates a rabbit hole of discovery that can really teach you a lot about a creator and their work and the process just feels deeply human in a way, it's a conversation between you and the artist.
A.I. art is obviously devoid of this. And it's in that negative space that I think a real longing for that human conversation emerges. A.I. art feels hollow and vapid because the human element has been stripped away. It is the ultimate example of soulessly prioritizing purely aesthetic appeal and efficient production, it's the logical endpoint of art under capitalism. The conversation is over, and all that's left is the whirr of computer fans and the faint hum of a monitor.
