Lol, Hinton has gone from one of the "Four Godfathers of Deep Learning" to "THE Godfather of AI" through self promotion and political backing in the last couple of years in a really weird way.
He's trotted out by the media and politicians so frequently I feel like they are creating a new "Fauci", destined to sell us on policy that will only be good for the corporations. I guess we will see.
