As someone who's taught many online college classes, I can vouch for a huge uptick in academic fraud over the last couple of years. In the class that I taught over the summer the students were required to write eight essays. I don't think any of those were written by human beings. One student actually put the website that he used to generate the essay in his bibliography so of course I gave him a zero. But the others just got a few pep talks about the importance of education, the need to learn skills that will help them compete, etc. etc. What else is one supposed to do? I can't fail all of them. Even the discussion boards were filled with almost nothing but A.I. generated fluff.
